'Drake' And 'Lil Durk' Linked Up For The triumphant Smash, “Laugh Now, Cry Later“ Out Now!

Drake

(featuring Lil Durk)

''Laugh Now Cry Later''

With all the uncertainty in the world, the only thing we know for sure is that Drake does not miss. After a slew of unfinished leaks it feels euphoric to get an absolute gem from the Champagne Papi himself. Drake and Lil Durk linked up for the triumphant smash, “Laugh Now Cry Later“. The music video is already the #1 Trending video on YouTube (somebody give this man an Oscar).

Social media went crazy when Drake hinted at a new song the other day, but Twitter’s been in absolute frenzy after finding out that an album is on the way. The Canadian mogul announced that Certified Loverboy will be out soon, and we’ll be anxiously waiting until it arrives.

About:

Aubrey “Drake” Graham is a Grammy-Award winning, platinum-selling recording artist and multi-faceted entertainer.

Born in Toronto on October 24th, 1986, Drake is the son of Sandi and Dennis Graham, a drummer who worked with Jerry Lee Lewis. His father is African American, a native of Memphis, Tennessee and his mother is Jewish Canadian. Drake’s interest in performing began at an early age. From summers spent with his dad in Memphis, he gained an appreciation and understanding for music that would later influence the sound he would create in years to come.

Since first being recognized for his role on the highly-successful television series Degrassi: The Next Generation, and going on the road with rap star Lil Wayne after hearing Drake’s music in the summer of 2008, Drake has asserted himself as a trailblazer in the creative world. Drake released his mixtape So Far Gone in 2009 and his massive influence in the hip-hop and contemporary music space has commanded the market since, with no end in sight. Drake now holds the record for the most number one hits on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

As The New York Times Jon Caramanica writes, “So it’s gone with Drake, hip-hop’s current center of gravity, his success a reminder of so many of the victories hip-hop has won in the last couple of decades: the right to be decadent, sure, but also the right to reimagine any style of music, the right to be emotionally complicated, the right to be unusual. He confounds expectations. He raps about soft things, sings about hard things. Thanks to his versatility, he is the glue that binds together all of urban radio.”

Drake has catapulted into stardom not only as an artist, but as a cultural maven with October’s Very Own. Sharing the story of the thriving music scene in Toronto, Drake has built out OVO from a small-scale blog about his crew to an all-encompassing lifestyle brand, including his clothing company, his record label OVOSOUND and his annual OVOFEST.

Drake has reached great heights in recent years and he continues to create and dominate the global market. As Drake says, “It’s about the experience. If the city isn’t talking about it five, six, seven days later, or if people don’t remember it for years to come, then I haven’t done my job…I’m going to find out what comes after this, but there’s definitely another evolution of Drake.”

TikTok Really Might Make Jack Harlow’s ‘Whats Poppin’ Song of the Summer

Jack Harlow

"WHATS POPPIN" & "WHATS POPPIN (feat. DaBaby, Tory Lanez & Lil Wayne)"

#1 at Rhythmic in the U.S. and is starting to cross over to CHR/Top 40!

Rising Louisville, KY rapper JACK HARLOW kicks off 2020 with the fiery, Jetsonmade & Pooh Beatz-produced “WHATS POPPIN.” The bouncy, urgent new song arrives today alongside an equally energetic companion video, directed by Cole Bennett, out now via Lyrical Lemonade.

Watch the official video here!

“WHATS POPPIN” follows a massive 2019 for Harlow who released his critically-acclaimed mixtape, Confetti, in September 2019. Heralded by its lead single, “THRU THE NIGHT,” featuring fellow Louisville, KY native Bryson Tiller, the groundbreaking mixtape included fan-favorite songs which show Harlow’s wide range of talent including, “HEAVY HITTER,” “GHOST,” “WARSAW (feat. 2forwOyNE),” “RIVER ROAD,” “WALK IN THE PARK” to name a few.

“Whats Poppin” dropped pre-pandemic on January 21, with a video produced by Lyrical Lemonade and directed by Cole Bennett. The song quickly exploded on TikTok, especially thanks to its Pooh Beatz and JetsonMade–made beat. The “Whats Poppin” Glo-Up trend starts with a montage of your younger photos, then cuts to the new, improved, glo’d-up you when the beat drops out, lip-syncing “What’s poppin’?” like you’re flirting at a bar. It could also be a revenge thing, with captions like, “To all the guys who rejected me …” What’s poppin’ now? The glo-up inspo was perfectly in line with our vision for the new year. But just like how we were supposed to be doing a Dua Lipa “full 180,” suddenly the lyrics “I’ma spend this holiday locked in / My body got rid of them toxins” now mean something totally different. And with everyone literally locked inside, the TikToks just kept coming. Along with the glo-ups, the “If You Like” trend started, where guys list their attributes and qualifications then ask “What’s poppin’?” There are “Whats Poppin” dances, “Whats Poppin” skits, and more all over the app.

The song, off his EP Sweet Action, is a major breakout for Harlow, whose raps have earned him attention since he was in high school. There are over 400,000 TikToks set to the track, earning millions and millions of views and, frankly, I could just be talking about the one TikTok Charli D’Amelio made to it where she says “What’s poppin’” to her dog. With its fame, the song has only gained more clout for the rapper, especially since getting co-signs from some of the biggest names in rap right now; at No. 2, it caught up to another TikTok favorite from this year, DaBaby’s “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch. As it takes over AirPods and airwaves, “Whats Poppin” could go past “SportsCenter, top ten” all the way to No. 1.

ABOUT JACK HARLOW

Hailed for his fresh style, unconventional sound, and rebellious spirit, Jack Harlow fell in love with music at an early age and never looked back. In 2016, he released his first mixtape, 18, earning instant attention, with the breakout track, “Ice Cream,” becoming an instant fan favorite. Since then, Harlow has garnered more than 130 million total streams and counting, in part fueled by his acclaimed mixtape, Gazebo, released in November 2017 on his own Private Garden label. Harlow followed Gazebo with his first ever headline North American tour, followed by a string of select dates as support for Grammy-winning rock band Portugal. The Man. Harlow signed with Atlantic Records in 2018 via the DJ Drama and Don Cannon imprint, Generation Now, releasing the feel-good anthem “SUNDOWN” alongside an accompanying video, shortly after. “SUNDOWN” served as the lead single from his major-label debut mixtape, Loose, which spawned four more videos – “PICKYOURPHONEUP (feat. K. Camp),” “CODY BANKS,” SYLVIA (feat. 2forwOyNE)” and “DRIP DROP (feat. Cyhi The Prynce)” – and later earned Harlow a 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards Nomination for “Best Mixtape.” Following the project’s release, Harlow hit the road on his 18-date “The Loose Tour.”

The Legend Juice WRLD Strives to Be Better on Posthumous Marshmello Collaboration ‘Come and Go’, a Track That Appears on the Late Rapper’s Upcoming Album, Legends Never Die!

Juice WRLD

"Come & Go (with Marshmello)"

“Legends Never Die” Debuts #1 on the Billboard chart this week with the #4 biggest streaming debut of ALL TIME!

New videos out now for “Come & Go” and “Wishing Well” , see below

Merch collabs with Faze Clan and VLONE available at https://legendsneverdie999.shop/

Incredible playlisting and digital support for the new album:

#1 album on Apple Music

#1 album on iTunes

15 of the top 20 tracks on the Spotify Top 50 in Canada

At 21, Juice WRLD had begun to master the world around him. He could wed the sounds of influences like Billy Idol and Chief Keef and create something entirely different. As a songwriter, he could pair an airy melody with lyrics about heartbreak or drugs, and given the chance, fire off marathon freestyle sessions on a whim. A wunderkind with many imitators on SoundCloud, he sounded far more polished, far beyond whatever his closest peer was attempting to accomplish. When he died in December 2019, days removed from celebrating his 21st birthday, it opened up yet another wound for a generation of rap fans struggling to hold on to the new voices that spoke for them.

A video for Juice WRLD’s Marshmello collaboration ‘Come And Go’, in which he turns into a cartoon hero, has been released.

The track features on the late rapper’s posthumous album ‘Legends Never Die’, which was released on (July 10).

The Steve Cannon-directed clip begins with old footage of the rapper and his girlfriend Ally Lotti before the couple morph into animated characters. In their new cartoon world, the pair face off against various monsters and villains. Watch it below now.

Marshmello paid tribute to his collaborator on Thursday (July 9), calling him “one of the most talented people I have ever met”. “We were both constantly on the same page when it came to music and the times we spent together were some of the most exciting times I’ve ever had in my entire life,” he said.

Juice WRLD brought people from outside the margins into his crystalized world of vulnerability in a dash towards mental freedom. His most fervently repeated lines doubled as yearbook quotes or quickly deleted tweets. His closest supporters, such as producer and longtime collaborator Nick Mira, have kept his legacy close to them, maybe more so than any other group of fans who recently lost their champion. Juice asked those fans to trust him—and the people who supported him—as if they were family. Legends Never Die, the Chicago artist’s first posthumous release, doesn’t feel like a final goodbye from Juice but instead a continued look inside his world.

Across three major releases—Goodbye & Good Riddance, WRLD on Drugs, and Death Race for Love—Juice proudly kept himself at a distance while pining for love, bringing fans closer to his truth while still keeping his guard up. The bulk of Legends Never Die sifts through his thoughts as he battled anxiety in the face of stardom. He understood the game he played and how it kept him centered: “If it wasn’t for the pills, I wouldn’t be here,” he sings on “Wishing Well.” It’s a bleak and beautiful world he’s created, one where the most poignant moments are buried in candor and honesty.

Juice WRLD blends his pop-punk inflected hip-hop with Marshmello’s big tent EDM on the new song “Come and Go,” set to appear on the late rapper’s posthumous album, Legends Never Die, released on July 10th.

The track finds Juice WRLD striving to be a better man over an atmospheric guitar loop that’s soon pushed toward the edge by thumping drums. But when the drop arrives, it’s a big, ragged guitar riff boosted by handclaps as Juice WRLD sings, “I don’t wanna ruin this one/This type of love don’t always come and go.”

On Instagram, Marshmello shared a short statement about the song, calling Juice WRLD “one of the most talented people I have ever met.” He continued: “We were both constantly on the same page when it came to music and the times we spent together were some of the most exciting times I’ve ever had in my entire life. Watching you take breaks to do wheelies on your dirt bike and then come back and finish a whole song in one take was normal and to be able to be on this album with you and show the world what we made together means so much to me. You were a great person and I miss you every day, man. You will live forever through your music.”

''Come and Go''

''Wishing Well''

''Fighting Demons''

“Come and Go” follows previously released Legends Never Die tracks “Life’s a Mess,” featuring Halsey, “Tell Me U Luv Me,” featuring Trippie Redd and “Righteous.”

The rapper died in December 2019 from an accidental drug overdose. ‘Legends Never Die’ is his first posthumous album and follows his previous two records, 2018’s ‘Goodbye & Good Riddance’ and 2019’s ‘Death Race For Love’.  His legancy of music and lyrics will live on forever.

St. Louis rapper Huey, known for his 2007 hit "Pop, Lock & Drop It," was killed in a double shooting, St. Louis County police said Friday.

The shooting took place Thursday in Kinloch, Missouri, a city about 15 miles north of St. Louis, when police were notified that the 32-year-old victim -- whose real name is Lawrence Franks Jr. -- arrived at a local hospital with at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Franks was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival to the hospital, police said. There has been no arrest in connection with the shooting and a motive has not been determined, police said.

"Detectives believe as many as ten other individuals were present in and around the crime scene during the occurrence of this incident. Investigators strongly encourage those that are potential witnesses to please contact them," police said.

A second victim in the shooting went to the Ferguson Police Department and was taken to a local hospital with wounds that police said were not life-threatening.

Huey's hit "Pop, Lock & Drop It" was released in 2007 and spent 23 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 6.

"This song is special to me… Usually, after making an album, I don't really wanna hear any of the songs for a while cause I’ve heard them so much. But this one.. I keep coming back to .. Every time I hear it, I think I like it more.. The vibe of the music. The message in the words and the catchy, yet still simple hook.. And it's not just me. The hardcore fans... Old and new, and even my mother in law. This is their favorite song from my album.. So I know it's not just me....  Even performance-wise, when asked to do a song live.. Most people would think I would do the Hit/ or most well-known songs from my catalogue. But this is the one I always tend to lean towards during any performance..... So I wanted to see if I can take this song further and go to radio with it!" - Classified

Offset  Just Released His Masterpiece Debut Solo Album, ''Father of 4'' Available Now!

Offset

Solo Album

''Father of 4''

Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus) has just released his masterpiece debut solo album, Father of 4.  Offset allows his vulnerability about what it means to him to be a father, about his relationships and vices.  He isn't afraid to show the truth and emotions of his past and present life in this album unlike any work he’s done before, giving readers an reflective look at the reality of his life and times.

The albums first single "Red Room" sets the tone for this masterpiece, as the song and its visuals take you on a journey through some of his most formative and also troubling moments of his adolescence to adulthood.

Father of 4 was produced by a number of musicians, including Metro Boomin and Southside. The album was released under both the Motown and Quality Control Music labels.

It features a number of artists, including J. Cole, Gucci Mane, Travis Scott and 21 Savage. One of the tracks, North Star, was unexpectedly co-written by CeeLo Greenand English synth-pop band, Duran Duran.

WATCH: The music video for Offset's debut solo single, 'Red Room'

The video features images from Offset’s life, including scenes of violence, a car crash, and evocative scenes like a group of Black Panthers facing the police.

“This album means the world to me,” wrote Offset in a tweet. “I took my time with the project. Take your time listening, [there are] very special stories within the songs.”

He discusses his new album, and he describes it as being highly personal — so much so that it actually brought him to tears.

“I cried to myself while I was doing this album ’cause I was talking about my story and my kids,” he revealed. “When I did a song, I started getting memories of my grandma, my struggles, my partner that was killed, the thoughts I had while I was incarcerated, and my kids’ faces were there in my head. I love my kids, this is who I do it for.”

The Red Room rapper continued to share gratitude for his children and revealed he hopes to make them proud.

“Fatherhood was missing in my life,” he added, “and sometimes I have to be missing for work, but it all comes back to the little ones. I’m setting them up for the future.”

Offset proceeded to retweet a mass amount of fan tweets which praised the long-awaited record.

As promised, the record was delivered and is currently dominating the iTunes chart, however, as of this writing, there’s been no word on the documentary.

Ahead of Father of 4’s release, the hip-hop power couple decided to share a couple of cute posts to social media as a little teaser.

Offset first posted a behind-the-scenes look at the album art photoshoot, which featured all of his children. He was shown spending time with his children as the camera crew tried to get Kulture’s attention for the picture.

This past year of 2018 was certainly the year of Migos made possible with the release of their sophomore album, Culture II, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, and is now RIAA Certified 2x Platinum with over 5.5 billion global streams along with a sold out arena tour with Drake, memorable moments like performing on SNL and karaoking with James Corden for Carpool Karaoke.  The anticipation and press flurry around “Father of 4” seems to be an early indicator that 2019 will be that of Offset’s.
